Troon @ Ayrshire Family History Society has a small library cupboard situated in Troon Public Library. On production of proof of membership a key may be accessed at MERC — found at the rear of the main library department. Books can be taken out for personal use. A jotter has been left to record borrowing details. We trust our members to return borrowed books safely.

Our holdings include Family Histories, Ayrshire History, Social History, Occupations, Trade and Travel. We also have copies of Family History Journals from Scotland and elsewhere as well as Monumental Inscriptions and Deaths and Burials in the OPRs. Some indexed Valuation Rolls of Troon are in our library for consultation only.

The Reading Room in Troon Library where our cupboard is situated is frequently used by other groups. The Publications Team are usually in the room on Tuesday mornings between 10 and 12 and can make our library available then. Otherwise it is best to visit on a Monday evening 5–7pm. At other times check with the Library Staff on 01292 315352 to find out if the room is available or just take a chance of accessing the room.
